In the wake of the sudden demise of Assam’s beloved singer Zubeen Garg on September 19, Chief Minister Hemanta Biswas Sharma has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.
Garg’s last rites were held on Monday, drawing one of the largest funerals in the world, with thousands paying their respects.
Taking to social media, CM Sharma stated that “we will not spare anyone” and announced that he had met with DGP Assam Police, ADGP CID, Chief Secretary, and other senior officials to discuss the investigation.
He directed the DGP to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising the best officers of Assam Police to probe the circumstances surrounding Garg’s death.
The CM further stated that viscera samples will be sent to the Central Forensic Laboratory in Delhi for detailed examination.
He emphasized that the SIT would have complete freedom and professional integrity to carry out the investigation.
Zubeen Garg’s untimely demise has sent shockwaves throughout the music industry and his fans all around the nation.
