Late singer Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, on Friday reaffirmed her trust in the legal system to deliver justice for her husband, who passed away on September 19 in Singapore under mysterious circumstances.
Speaking to the media, Garima emphasized that those responsible for any wrongdoing must face the “ultimate punishment” if proven guilty.
“Whatever the government and legal system have decided is in the right direction. Because it’s a case of Zubeen, not just another person. I have full faith that justice will be served,” she said.
Her statement came a day after the Gauhati High Court approved the constitution of a judicial commission headed by Justice Soumitra Saikia to probe Garg’s death.
The beloved Assamese singer’s passing has sparked widespread grief and calls for a thorough investigation across the state.
