Indian Army future-ready, prepared to counter evolving threats: Army chief

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday underscored the force’s growing strength and preparedness, saying the Army is rapidly transforming into a future-ready force capable of responding to evolving and unpredictable forms of warfare.

Addressing the media after the 78th Army Day Parade in Jaipur, he described indigenously developed equipment as a “strategic necessity” for safeguarding national interests.

“The Indian Army is moving forward as a future-ready force with well-trained soldiers, modern equipment and multi-domain operational capabilities,” General Dwivedi said, adding that technology is being increasingly leveraged to enhance the soldier’s effectiveness.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said it had established a new operational benchmark, demonstrating the Army’s speed, coordination and precision.

He also highlighted the raising of new formations such as the Bhairav Battalion and Shakti Baan Regiment as steps towards an agile and mission-oriented force.
