‘Israel committed to this peace’: Netanyahu declares in address to Knesset

In a historic address at the Knesset on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to peace alongside US President Donald Trump, signaling a potential end to nearly two years of devastating conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“I am committed to this peace,” Netanyahu declared, drawing applause from lawmakers and citizens watching across the nation.

The announcement came just hours after all 20 surviving Israeli hostages held by Hamas were released and handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross, a breakthrough moment in the Gaza ceasefire agreement brokered with US mediation.

The hostages are now en route back to Israel, where emotional celebrations erupted as families welcomed the long-awaited news.

The ceasefire, nearly two years after the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks, has sparked cautious optimism. Around 400 aid trucks are expected to enter Gaza in the coming days, delivering critical food, medicine, and relief supplies.

Meanwhile, President Trump will travel to Egypt to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit, where discussions will focus on Gaza’s postwar reconstruction and long-term regional stability.
