Jagdeep Dhankhar hospitalised at Delhi AIIMS after losing consciousness

Former Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Monday after reportedly losing consciousness twice over the weekend, officials said.

According to PTI, the 74-year-old experienced health complications on January 10 and was advised medical evaluation.

Officials said Dhankhar suffered two bouts of unconsciousness on Saturday while going to the washroom. He later visited AIIMS for a routine check-up, following which doctors recommended hospitalisation for further tests. An MRI scan is expected to be part of the medical assessment.

Dhankhar had resigned from the post of Vice President on July 21 last year, citing health reasons, a move that had sparked speculation at the time. Since then, he has made limited public appearances.

Officials also said Dhankhar had blacked out on several occasions during recent events in different parts of the country. No official statement has been issued by his family so far on his condition.
