As the much-talked about match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 nears, the off field drama is playing out like a low-budget sequel.
Adding to the latest drama, Pakistan Super League’s Karachi Kings decided to “channel their inner creativity” by posting a chess-themed graphic on social media.
The board featured Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha, but India’s side was left as a mysterious black silhouette- eerily similar to what IPL’s Punjab Kings had already done recently.
While Punjab Kings’ move was subtle, Karachi Kings’ version seemed more like a Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V job. Fans were quick to notice that originality was once again missing in action much like Pakistan’s batting in crunch matches.
India and Pakistan prepare to clash against each other tomorrow, with the possibility of meeting up to three times in the tournament. Until then, it seems the only contest Pakistan is winning is in the “copycat” league.
