Ahead of India’s ODI series against Australia starting October 19, Shubman Gill is set to make his debut as India’s ODI captain.
During a press conference, Gill addressed speculation about his relationship with former captain Rohit Sharma, calling for clarity.
“The narrative that is going on outside is different, but there is nothing different in our relationship now. We are just like how we used to be before, everything is the same,” Gill said.
He praised Rohit’s guidance, adding, “He is very helpful. If there is any observation he makes after his years of experience, he tells me. If I want to ask him something, I go and ask his opinion.”
Gill emphasized his willingness to learn from senior players while making final decisions based on his own understanding of the game, signaling a collaborative yet independent approach as captain.
