On Tuesday, NDA’s candidate for recent Vice-Presidential elections CP Radhakrishnan has been elected as next Vice President of India as he won 452 votes against his counterpart Reddy.
The 68-year-old politician who has previously served as Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat, will now become India’s 15th Vice President. Radhakrishnan defeated I.N.D.I.A. bloc’s candidate B Sudershan Reddy to win the poll.
He will now replace Jadgeep Dhankar who resigned in July, citing health reasons.
Radhakrishnan’s elevation to the post has been widely welcomed by NDA leaders, who expressed confidence in his ability to uphold parliamentary traditions and contribute to national policymaking.
