Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor took aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during his rally in Purnea, coinciding with the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) announcement of the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in 12 States and Union Territories.
Referring to the SIR conducted earlier in Bihar, Kishor questioned its impact, saying, “What difference did it make? Was anyone’s name struck off? A few people did face difficulties.”
He accused the BJP of using the process to intimidate voters, claiming, “They might want to delete someone’s name, scare someone else and bother someone. But if people turn against you, do any SIR or FIR, there will be nobody to save you.”
His remarks come ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, which will take place in two phases in November.
