Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra move Bombay HC in cheating case

Actor Shipa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, have moved to the Bombay High Court seeking to dismiss a ₹60-crore cheating case filed against the couple.

Shilpa and Raj have also requested the court to restrict the police from filing a chargesheet or taking any coercive action until their pleas are heard.

The matter was addressed on Monday by a bench consisting of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad. The bench ordered the couple to provide a copy of their petition to the complainant, businessman Deepak Kothari.

The complaint filed by Kothari, alleged that between 2015 and 2023, Shetty and Kundra induced him to invest ₹60 crore in their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, which was later used for their personal gain.’

In their petitions, Shilpa and Raj contended that the FIR was based on”distorted facts” and influenced by an attempt to extort money.

The Bombay High court posted the next hearing for November 20.
