Shiv Sena MP calls for fair seat-sharing among alliance partners in Bihar polls

As Bihar gears up for the 2025 Assembly elections, the Congress party has urged its Mahagathbandhan partners to ensure a balanced and transparent seat-sharing arrangement to avoid internal rifts.

The party emphasized that lessons must be learned from Maharashtra, where disputes over seat allocation and leadership positions hurt the alliance’s performance.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stressed that coordination among alliance partners – including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and others, is vital to maintain unity.

She further called for Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy CM, to be declared the alliance’s chief ministerial face, describing him as a “very popular candidate.”

The Congress, which released its first list of 48 candidates for the upcoming elections, maintained that cooperation and clarity on seat distribution would be key to ensuring the Mahagathbandhan’s success in Bihar.

Polling in Bihar will take place on November 6 and 11, with results on November 14.
