Television actor Ashish Kapoor has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court following his arrest on charges of sexual assault.
Kapoor, 40, was taken into custody by the Delhi Police earlier this week after a woman accused him of assaulting her during a house party in the capital. The court’s decision comes as the investigation into the allegations continues.
According to police, the complainant alleged that Kapoor assaulted her inside a bathroom during a party held in Delhi in August.
The incident was reported at Civil Lines police station, where an FIR was registered on August 11. Following the complaint, the police began searching for Kapoor, leading to his eventual arrest.
Kapoor, known for his roles in popular television shows such as Saraswatichandra, Molkki Rishton Ki Agnipariksha, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Woh Apna Sa, will remain in judicial custody as the case proceeds.
