US President Donald Trump on Thursday unveiled the newly formed “Board of Peace” during a ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos, positioning it as a global body aimed at conflict resolution and post-war reconstruction.
According to officials, the board will oversee efforts related to the demilitarisation and rebuilding of Gaza, marking a central focus of its initial mandate. Trump described the initiative as a platform to bring long-term stability to regions affected by prolonged conflict.
Several world leaders joined the US President on stage during the ceremony and signed the charter establishing the board, signalling international backing for the initiative.
The announcement comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions and ongoing debates over the future of Gaza following months of conflict.
While details on the board’s structure and enforcement powers remain limited, the White House said further operational guidelines would be released in the coming weeks.
