Unnao rape case survivor approach CBI to challenge Delhi HC’s decision

The survivor of the 2017 Unnao rape case and her family on Friday approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit a complaint against the Delhi High Court’s order granting conditional bail to former BJP MLA and convicted accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

After meeting officials, the victim’s mother said the CBI had accepted their application and assured them it would be examined.

“They have received my complaint. Now we have to see when the authorities meet us. We are ready to go to the Supreme Court and we trust it,” she said.

The survivor said she sought a meeting with senior officials but was told it was a holiday. “I was asked to come back on Monday. A junior official received my application and said the senior officer would look into it,” she said.

The family has decided to move the apex court, seeking to challenge the bail order and ensure justice in the long-running case.
