Singer Zubeen Garg dies after scuba diving accident in Singapore

Renowned singer Zubeen Garg, one of the most celebrated voices from Assam, has tragically passed away following a scuba diving accident in Singapore on September 19, 2025. 

Popular for his soulful hits like “Ya Ali” and “Jaane Kya Chaahhe Mann Baawra”, Garg’s sudden demise has left the music industry and millions of fans in shock.

According to reports, Singapore police rescued Zubeen Garg from the sea and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Despite being placed under intensive medical care, doctors could not save him.

Over his illustrious career, Zubeen Garg primarily worked in Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi-language films and music but also showcased his versatility by singing in more than 40 other languages and dialects. 

His contribution to regional and Indian music remains unmatched, making him a cultural icon. Fans across the globe are mourning the loss of a voice that defined generations.
