Arvind Kejriwal inaugurates playgrounds across 3,100 villages in Punjab

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday inaugurated the construction of playgrounds in 3,100 villages across Punjab, calling it a “historic day” for the state.

Speaking at a gathering in Bathinda, Kejriwal said no government since independence had undertaken such a massive sports infrastructure initiative.

The playgrounds will include facilities for volleyball, hockey, and cricket, and will be monitored by AAP youth club members to ensure proper maintenance and equipment safety.

Kejriwal also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to fighting drug abuse, promising strict action against drug peddlers and increased rehabilitation support.

Highlighting the state’s progress on employment, he announced that the Punjab government has created 55,000 government jobs for youth based purely on merit.

Kejriwal also urged young people of the state to stay away from drugs and channel their energy into sports and fitness.
