In a shocking turn of events, Haryana Police have booked former Punjab DGP (Human Rights) Mohammad Mustafa and his wife, ex-minister Razia Sultana, for the alleged murder of their 35-year-old son, Aqil Akhtar, after a resurfaced video pointed to a possible family conspiracy.
Aqil was found unconscious at his residence in Panchkula’s Sector 4 on October 16 and was declared dead at Civil Hospital, with the family initially claiming it was a drug overdose.
The case took a dramatic twist when family acquaintance Shamshudeen Chaudhary filed a complaint citing an August 27 video in which Aqil accused his father of having an affair with his wife.
He also alleged that his mother and sister were plotting to kill him or implicate him in a false case. In the video, Aqil said he feared for his life and was under “immense mental trauma.”
Chaudhary has submitted screenshots of Aqil’s social media posts and diary entries as evidence, urging Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and DGP to ensure a fair and transparent investigation into the mysterious death.
