Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer is steadily recovering after undergoing surgery for a spleen injury sustained during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Iyer was hit on the ribs while attempting a catch to dismiss Alex Carey, which later led to internal complications requiring surgical intervention.
The report adds that Iyer is now in stable condition and recuperating well.
He has resumed basic daily activities, including taking phone calls, eating home-cooked meals arranged by local friends, and managing his routine chores independently.
While there is no official timeline yet for his return to cricket, sources close to the player have indicated that his recovery is progressing positively.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is closely monitoring his rehabilitation process.
