An IndiGo flight operating from Jeddah to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Friday after the airline received a security threat onboard.
Flight 6E 68 made the precautionary landing in Mumbai, where security agencies immediately carried out detailed checks following standard protocol.
In a statement, IndiGo confirmed the incident, saying it promptly alerted authorities and fully cooperated with the security procedures.
“Safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft are our topmost priorities,” an airline spokesperson said, adding that passengers were kept informed and provided refreshments during the delay.
After thorough inspections, the aircraft was cleared for further operations. No injuries or disruptions beyond the diversion were reported.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the nature of the threat.
