Ajit Pawar clarifies land deal involving son Parth, transaction cancelled

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday clarified that his son Parth Pawar and his business partner were unaware that the land their company purchased in Pune belonged to the government.

Pawar said the ₹300 crore land deal has now been cancelled, and an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the matter.

“The concerned land is government-owned and cannot be sold. Parth and his partner Digvijay Patil did not know this. The registration of the documents has been cancelled, and affidavits have been submitted to authorities,” Pawar told reporters after meeting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.

He added that no money had been exchanged in the transaction and that the probe, led by ACS Vikas Kharge, would submit its report within a month.

Pawar also denied any political pressure in the land transfer and said the FIR names three people, none of whom include his son, as they were the ones who signed the registration papers.

Ajit Pawar said he has instructed officials to scrap any irregular land deals involving his relatives and take strict action if violations are found.
