Delhi’s Red Fort blast declared as terror attack in Cabinet resolution

On Wednesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a two-hour-long cabinet meeting at his residence to discuss the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed several lives.

The Cabinet passed a formal resolution condemning the incident near Delhi’s Red Fort, declaring it a heinous “terror act” perpetrated by “anti-national forces.”

The resolution released also expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and conveyed condolences to the affected families.

Reiterating India’s zero-tolerance stance toward terrorism, the Cabinet said the government remains “steadfast in safeguarding the lives and well-being of all Indians.”

Officials said the investigation will be pursued with “utmost urgency and professionalism” to bring those responsible to justice.

The Cabinet also recalled India’s position during Operation Sindoor in May this year, where it was declared that any act of terrorism against the nation would be treated as an act of war.
