A Delhi court on Wednesday remanded Anmol Bishnoi, accused in the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, to 11 days of National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody.
Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, arrived in India earlier in the afternoon after being “removed” from the United States.
He was produced before Patiala House Court around 5 pm under heavy security, including Rapid Action Force deployment.
The NIA had sought 15 days of custody, but the court granted 11. In a detailed statement, the agency said Anmol had been “executing” terror-related activities from the US for years.
Anmol was chargesheeted in March 2023 after investigations revealed he actively assisted designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in orchestrating multiple terror acts between 2020 and 2023.
A native of Punjab’s Fazilka district, Anmol fled India via Nepal in 2022 before travelling through several countries and eventually reaching the US.
According to the NIA, he coordinated with Bishnoi gang operatives from abroad, using them to run extortion networks, targeted killings and other terror-linked activities.
His arrest marks the 19th major capture connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi–led terror syndicate, the NIA said.
