Mandhana returns to Instagram after wedding postponement, fans notice missing ring

India women’s team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana ended her brief absence from public view on Friday, marking her return to Instagram weeks after her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal was unexpectedly postponed.

The cricketer had gone offline following the November 23 incident, when her father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell critically ill in Sangli on the morning of the ceremony, forcing the event to be halted.

A day later, Palash Muchhal was also hospitalized. Both have since been discharged, though neither family has announced a new wedding date.

Mandhana’s comeback came through a paid partnership video with a popular toothpaste brand, where she spoke about the emotions of lifting India’s maiden Women’s World Cup trophy.

While the promotional content appeared routine, fans quickly picked up on one detail, Mandhana was not wearing her engagement ring.

The clip triggered widespread speculation online, with some questioning whether the video was filmed before her engagement, while others wondered if the missing ring hinted at deeper issues.

However, several users urged restraint, suggesting the advertisement was likely shot earlier and released later.

Palak Muchhal, speaking to Filmfare, acknowledged the emotional strain both families have endured but said they are focusing on positivity as they move forward.
