A hotel manager and two more men have been arrested by Police in Uttar Pradesh‘s Bareilly for allegedly assaulting cops during a New Year’s Eve raid at a city hotel.
As confirmed by the officers, the incident took place on December 31 at Sobti Continental Hotel, where the party continued beyond permitted hours with loud music and liquor service post 1 am.
Acting on complaints, police personnel reached the hotel and asked the management to shut down the music system.
According to Baradari police station SHO Dhananjay Kumar Pandey, sub-inspector Saurabh Tomar and head constable Sabir Ali were later dispatched again after fresh complaints that the DJ had resumed playing music at high volume.
At the hotel, they were allegedly abused and attacked by the hotel manager and others, who were reportedly drunk.
The arrested accused have been identified as hotel manager Masi Alam, accountant Pavnesh Kumar, and Raghav Kapoor, a relative of the hotel owner.
They have been booked for attempted murder, assault on police personnel, and violations of noise pollution norms.
