The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has once again been ranked the number one management institute in India, according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 released today by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi. This marks the ninth consecutive year that IIM Ahmedabad has secured the top spot, reaffirming its dominance in management education.
Just like in 2024, IIM Bangalore retained the second position, while IIM Kozhikode climbed to the third, continuing the strong presence of IIMs at the top. IIM Calcutta, however, slipped from fifth in 2024 to seventh this year. MDI Gurgaon re-entered the top 10, while XLRI dropped one place to the tenth position. Notably, IIT Delhi is the only IIT to feature in the top 10 list in 2025, reflecting a growing trend of engineering institutes making their presence felt in management education.
In the overall rankings, IIT Madras and IISc Bangalore continued to hold their positions. Since 2016, IIM Ahmedabad’s consistent performance has set the benchmark for business education in India, highlighting its leadership in academic excellence, research, and industry relevance.
