Gold prices eased on Monday (September 8, 2025), retreating from record highs as fresh selling by stockists weighed on the market.
According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold of 99.9% purity slipped by ₹200 to ₹1,07,670 per 10 grams in the national capital. Similarly, gold of 99.5% purity also dropped by ₹200, settling at ₹1,06,800 per 10 grams, inclusive of taxes.
The decline follows a sharp surge over the weekend. On Saturday (September 6), both 99.9% and 99.5% purity gold had jumped ₹900 each to touch record levels of ₹1,07,870 and ₹1,07,000 per 10 grams, respectively.
Analysts attribute the dip to profit-booking by traders after the recent rally. However, with prices still near all-time highs, demand in the domestic market remains under pressure.
