Zookeeper killed in lion attack at Bangkok’s Safari World, visiters shocked

A horrifying tragedy unfolded at Bangkok’s Safari World on the morning of September 10, when a pack of lions fatally mauled a zookeeper in full view of stunned visitors.

The attack, which lasted nearly 15 minutes, began after the zookeeper stepped out of his vehicle around 11 a.m. One lion, standing just a few metres away, lunged from behind and dragged him to the ground, inflicting severe bites.

Moments later, three to four other lions joined the assault, making rescue attempts nearly impossible. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic, with tourists honking car horns and shouting desperately in an attempt to scare off the animals.

Despite the efforts, the lions refused to release their prey. The injured zookeeper was rushed to a nearby hospital by staff but succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Safari World management has expressed deep regret and assured full cooperation with investigators. The incident has raised serious concerns about safety protocols at the zoo, leaving both staff and visitors shaken by the deadly episode.
