Indian Mujahideen (IM) fugitive linked to several terror attacks in 2008 has regained spotlight with his previous links to the Al Falah University in Faridabad, an institution already under radar after November 10 blasts near Delhi’s Red Fort.
Identified as Mirza Shadab Baig, the Indian Mujahideen has been accused of plotting the 200 Jaipur serial blasts, the Ahmedabad-Surat bombings and the 2007 Gorakhpur explosions.
Baig who carries a ₹1 lakh reward went missing after the Batla House encounter in the capital city.
As per PTI, Baig completed his B.Tech in electronics and instrumentation from Al Falah University in 2007, a fresh addition to the university’s deep link to alleged “white collar” terror network.
The campus came under the radar after four faculty members and a preacher were arrested for their suspected roles in the latest plot.
The Red Fort car blast, which killed 10 people, was carried out using an explosives-packed i20 driven by Dr Umar-un-Nabi. Investigators believe Muzammil Ganaie, Adeel Rather and Shaheena Saeed played key roles in orchestrating the attack.
The four suspects including Muzammil Ganaie, Adeel Rather, Shaheen Saeed and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay have been sent to 10 days NIA custody.
