The Assam Police’s CID on Friday issued notices to individuals who were present during or have knowledge of events leading to singer Zubeen Garg’s death in Singapore, directing them to appear within 10 days, a senior official said.
The move forms part of an ongoing probe conducted by a Special Investigating Team (SIT) set up by the CID.
The SIT continued searches at the residence of North East India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta for the second day.
Earlier, the homes of Garg’s manager Siddhartha Sharma and musician Shekhar Jyoti Goswami were also searched. Both Sharma and Goswami were reportedly with Garg when he drowned.
Garg tragically died on September 19 during a yacht trip in Singapore. Besides those from Guwahati, several members of the Assamese community residing in Singapore were also present at the time.
Authorities have called on all witnesses to provide statements as part of the investigation.
