Autopsy report reveals cardiac arrest behind Noida techie’s death

The autopsy report of 27-year-old Yuvraj Mehta, who died after his car plunged into a water-filled pit in Greater Noida’s Sector 150, has revealed that he suffered asphyxia due to ante-mortem drowning.

This was followed by cardiac arrest, leading to his death. The report confirmed around 200 ml of fluid in his lungs.

What happened?

Yuvraj, a software professional from Gurugram, was returning home to Tata Eureka Park on the night of January 16 when his Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara veered off the road in dense winter fog and fell into a deep excavation pit dug for a building’s basement. The pit, estimated to be over 20 feet deep and filled with rainwater, had no barricades, warning signs, or reflective markers.

After the crash, Yuvraj climbed onto the car roof and called his father, Raj Kumar Mehta, who rushed to the site. Despite efforts, he could not be rescued
