Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday launched the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) portal, aiming to enhance online police services and streamline public access to law enforcement.
Speaking at a departmental review meeting at the Bihar police headquarters, Choudhary said the platform would “establish better coordination between the police and the public” and reduce the need for citizens to make repeated visits to police stations.
Describing the initiative as a major leap toward “accessible, transparent and efficient” policing, he said the system strengthens Bihar’s push for e-governance in the home department.
The DyCM also issued several directives to bolster law and order across the state.
He instructed officials to hasten the seizure of vehicles used in illegal mining and complete their auction within 15 days, while ensuring criminal cases are filed against offenders.
Calling for tougher measures to prevent exam-related malpractice, Choudhary ordered the formation of a special team to curb question paper leaks and directed immediate action against the accused, including the confiscation of their properties.
