BJP’s total expenditure in 2024–25 at ₹37,745.82 cr: Party audit report

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reported a total expenditure of ₹37,745.82 crore during the 2024–25 financial year, according to its audited income and expenditure statement submitted to the Election Commission of India. 

The spending marked a sharp rise from ₹22,116.99 crore recorded in 2023–24, largely driven by election-related activities.

The audit revealed that the biggest portion of expenditure,  ₹17,540.66 crore, was incurred on election and general propaganda, a massive jump from ₹3,335.37 crore in the previous year. 

Within this, the party spent ₹11,249.61 crore on electronic media campaigns, ₹897.42 crore on advertising, and ₹583.08 crore on travelling expenses.

Additional spending was reported on printed publicity material, creatives, cutouts, hoardings, banners, rallies, meetings, press conferences, morcha activities, grants and hire charges. Financial assistance provided to candidates during the year stood at ₹312.90 crore.

Despite the high expenditure, the BJP posted a surplus of ₹29,945.67 crore for 2024–25, higher than the ₹21,287.77 crore surplus recorded in the previous financial year.
