Panic gripped parts of the capital on Saturday after Max Hospitals in Shalimar Bagh and Dwarka received bomb threats, prompting large-scale security checks.
According to officials, the first alert was received at the hospital’s call centre earlier in the day, following which emergency protocols were activated.
The Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Service teams rushed to both locations, with the fire department confirming it received a call about the Dwarka facility at 4:47 p.m. Intensive search operations were carried out, though no suspicious objects were recovered.
A Max Hospital spokesperson said the safety of patients, staff, and visitors remains the top priority, adding that the institution is working closely with authorities.
While the threats are now believed to be hoaxes, the twin scares sparked temporary anxiety, underscoring the vulnerabilities of high-footfall medical facilities.
Investigations are underway to trace the source of the calls.
