The Indian National Congress is set to hold a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on October 8 to decide its candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The meeting, chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, will be held virtually and attended by senior party leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, KC Venugopal, and others.
Lok Sabha’s Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, currently on a visit to South America, will join online.
The Congress, which is in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and left parties like CPI and CPI (ML), is preparing to take on the NDA coalition led by the BJP, JD(U), and LJP.
While the party has yet to announce seat-sharing details, it recently completed its Voter Adhikar Yatra across Bihar.
The state will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
