Delhi to get first official logo and tagline: CM Rekha Gupta

Delhi is set to receive its first official logo and tagline, marking what chief minister Rekha Gupta described as a “historic moment” for the national capital.

The emblem and slogan will be unveiled on Saturday evening at the Red Fort during the Delhi Foundation Day celebrations, with the government stating that the new identity will reflect the city’s rich cultural legacy and modern aspirations.

Gupta said the design would encapsulate Delhi as “a city of culture, progress and people-first governance,” blending its heritage as India’s political centre with its transformation into a global metropolis.

“For decades, Delhi has been the face of India but lacked a formal identity of its own.

This logo and tagline will serve as lasting symbols of a transparent, modern and people-centric administration,” she noted.

The design emerged from a nationwide competition on the MyGov portal, which drew over 1,800 submissions.

Officials confirmed that the logo will become the permanent emblem of the Delhi government and feature across departments, official stationery, government buildings, and digital platforms.

The launch event, themed ‘Meri Dilli, Mera Gaurav’, will also honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary and showcase cultural performances celebrating the capital’s diversity and heritage.
