Family went to six police stations before Delhi biker’s body was found

The family of a 25-year-old biker who allegedly died after falling into an open pit in west Delhi’s Janakpuri area has accused the police of inaction, claiming they were forced to visit at least six police stations while searching for him through the night.

The deceased, identified as Kamal Dhyani, was returning home on Thursday night when the incident occurred. According to his brother, Dhyani stopped responding to calls after midnight, prompting the family to begin a frantic search.

Despite visiting multiple police stations and sharing his last known location, they said no immediate assistance was provided.

The family claimed they learnt about his death only the next morning when a police official answered Dhyani’s phone and informed them that his body had been recovered from the pit.

Delhi Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood expressed grief over the incident and said strict action would follow if safety lapses were found. The Delhi Jal Board has formed a committee to probe the matter.
