Gujarat ATS arrests three, uncovers ricin production setup tied to ISKP

The Gujarat Anit-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has uncovered a ricin-making setup at the Hyderabad residence of Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, who was arrested on Saturday alongside two others for an alleged Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP)-linked terror plot.

Dr. Saiyed (35) , a doctor educated in China, was arrested alongside Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem Khan (23) from Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, and Azad Suleman Sheikh (20) from Shamli, UP.

As per the reports, the trio were planning coordinated attacks using firearms and ricin, a highly toxic poison derived from castor beans waste that can be dangerous if ingested, inhaled, or injected.

Investigators said the accused conducted reconnaissance of high-profile targets, including the RSS office in Lucknow, Delhi’s Azadpur Mandi, and Ahmedabad’s Naroda fruit market, acting on instructions from an ISKP handler identified as Abu Khadija, believed to be operating from Afghanistan.

During the operation, the ATS seized pistols, ammunition, and nearly four litres of castor oil. The accused have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Arms Act.

Saiyed remains in ATS custody until November 17 as investigations continue to trace other module members.
