Amid rising tensions between Tehran and Washington, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday confirmed that Iran is seeking “real negotiations” with the United States that aim at achieving concrete outcomes.
Positing Iran’s stance, Araghchi said Iran remains committed to talks if they are outcome-oriented and conducted in good faith. This remark comes as the US continues its military buildup in the Middle East.
Araghchi dismissed the deployments, saying they do not intimidate Iran, and reiterated that Tehran will not give up uranium enrichment, a key demand of Washington.
Tensions between the two countries have escalated following US President Donald Trump’s calls for regime change in Iran, particularly in the wake of nationwide protests.
Despite the strained relations, both sides have held a series of talks in Oman. Trump has confirmed that discussions between Iran and the US will continue in the coming days.
