KVN Productions has informed the Madras High Court of its decision to withdraw the writ petition filed in connection with actor Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan.
Advocate Vijayan Subramanian, appearing for the production house, submitted a letter to the court registry stating that the company no longer intends to pursue the matter.
The petition is likely to be listed on February 10, 2026, before Justice P. T. Asha under the caption “For Withdrawal,” seeking formal permission from the court. The move follows KVN Productions’ decision to accept a reference to the Central Board of Film Certification’s revising committee.
The writ petition had been filed after the CBFC’s five-member examination committee, which viewed the film on December 19, 2025, reportedly recommended a U/A 16+ certificate subject to certain cuts. Jana Nayagan was originally scheduled for release on January 9, 2026.
