The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of sacked JD(S) leader and former MP Prajwal Revanna, upholding the lower court’s previous decision.
Prajwal’s advocate, Siddharth Luthra argued that when his client left the country on April 24, 2024, no case had been registered against him, with the first FIR filed only on April 28.
Further, Luthra also assured the court that his client would not attempt to flee again.
The prosecution highlighted multiple cases pending against Prajwal, including charges under Section 201 of the IPC for allegedly destroying evidence.
Luthra argued that Prajwal had himself sought a ban on obscene videos in court and had filed complaints against his election agent and former car driver, suggesting retaliation.
Despite these arguments, the High Court found no grounds to overturn the trial court’s decision and denied bail.
