India’s pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj achieved a major milestone on Monday, overtaking Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani to become the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket for 2025.Â
Siraj reached the feat after dismissing Shai Hope (103) during the second session on Day 4 of the second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The Hyderabad-born pacer has been in stellar form this year, picking up 37 wickets in eight matches at an average of 26.91, with best figures of 6/70.
He has also registered two four-wicket and two five-wicket hauls, showcasing his consistency and control with the red ball. Muzarabani, who previously led the charts, has taken 36 wickets in nine matches this year.
Match update: At stumps on Day 4, India were 63/1 in their second innings, chasing 121 for victory. KL Rahul (25*) and Sai Sudharsan (30*) guided India to within 58 runs as India will look to whitewash the series by 2-0 on Day 5.
