On Thursday, four suspects linked to the Delhi Red Fort blast case were remanded to 10-day custody of the National Investigation Agency.
Four suspects Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama, J&K, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, J&K, Lucknow’s Dr. Shaheen Saeed and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian, J&K were presented before a special NIA court at Patiala House.
The move comes amid a widening probe into the car explosion near Red Fort, Delhi.
Investigators allege these four are part of a “white-collar” terror module tied to the November 10 blast, linked to the Faridabad terror network, where nearly 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and other bomb-making material were recovered from sites connected to Dr Muzammil.
The NIA says the suspects were associated with Al Falah University in Faridabad: Dr Muzammil and Dr Adeel worked there, and Dr Shaheen, who reportedly stayed on campus, is accused of helping recruit others into the terror cell.
Mufti Irfan, meanwhile, is being probed for his role in radicalising these professionals.
