OpenAI and LoveFrom are reportedly collaborating to build AI-powered hardware, starting with a smart speaker. The partnership brings together OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Jony Ive, former Apple design head.
Other potential products include an AI digital recorder, smart glasses, and an AI Pin. Production is expected no earlier than the end of 2026.
Altman envisions these devices as a “third core device” after a MacBook Pro and iPhone. Some rumored products were previously ruled out by Altman and Ive, leaving their development uncertain.
OpenAI is targeting Apple’s supply chain, securing a deal with Luxshare and approaching Goertek for manufacturing.
The partnership is also attracting Apple talent. OpenAI promises new hires a more collaborative and less bureaucratic environment, according to sources familiar with the matter.
