Pune-based entrepreneur jumps to death from high-rise building

A prominent entrepreneur originally from Pune died by suicide on Thursday after jumping from a residential building in Maharashtra’s Solapur district, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil Motital Sadarangani (59), owner of the well-known Multani Bakery. The incident occurred around 4 pm at the Panas Apartment complex on Vizapur Road.

According to police, Sadarangani was first noticed by residents on the 17th floor, following which security guards intervened and brought him down to the 10th floor. However, he reportedly returned upstairs moments later and jumped from the building.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but succumbed to his injuries. Senior police officials reached the spot soon after the incident.

Preliminary inquiries suggest that Sadarangani had been under stress after moving from Solapur to Pune a few years ago, though the exact reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

Police said further investigation is underway.
