Quetta rocked by deadly car bomb blast, at least 10 killed

At least ten people were killed and several others injured when a powerful car bomb exploded outside the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Pakistan‘s Quetta on Tuesday, local media reported.

Police said the blast occurred as an explosive-laden vehicle turned from Model Town towards Hali Road, with the explosion heard miles away. Ambulances quickly transported the injured to nearby hospitals.

Provincial health minister Bakhat Kakar warned that the death toll could rise, as some victims remain in critical condition. Balochistan has long faced violence from insurgent groups such as the banned Baloch Liberation Army, which demands independence from Pakistan.

The attack comes amid rising unrest in the province. Earlier this month, a suicide bombing at a political rally in Quetta killed 11 people and injured more than 40. Official figures show over 430 security personnel and civilians have died in militant attacks since January.
