Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar hailed the nerve-wracking double super over clash between South Africa and Afghanistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday.
“Two super overs a day keep the boredom away! A game that went right down to the wire. Congratulations to the South African team on the win. It takes composure to see the game through. This Afghanistan team has the potential to be really dangerous,” Tendulkar posted.
Batting first, South Africa set a target of 188. Afghanistan were bowled out for 187, forcing a Super Over. Both teams scored 17 in the first tie-breaker. In the second, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs powered South Africa to 23, while Afghanistan managed 19, handing the Proteas a four-run win, their second of the tournament.
