While addressing a press conference in Qatar on Thursday, superstar Salman Khan expressed his admiration for legendary actor Dharmendra, calling him “like a father.”
Salman, who was among the first to visit Dharmendra during his recent hospitalisation in Mumbai, said he continues to pray for the senior actor’s swift recovery.
During the event, held ahead of his Da-Bangg The Tour Reloaded, Salman was asked about the inspiration behind his long-standing fitness journey. Without hesitation, he pointed to Dharmendra.
“Mere aane se pehle do-teen shaks the, aur unmein se awaal the Dharam ji,” he said, adding, “He is my father, that’s the end. I love that man and I just hope that he will come back.”
His emotional remarks drew loud cheers, with the audience chanting “long live Dharam ji.”
Dharmendra, who often affectionately refers to Salman as ‘beta’, was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.
Sunny Deol’s team later confirmed that the actor’s treatment will continue at home and requested privacy for the family.
Dharmendra, last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, will next appear in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, set for a December release.
