The DelhiPolice have registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Jha and Adil Ahmed Khan on charges of hurting religious sentiments, officials said on Thursday.
The case is based on a complaint alleging that the leaders shared objectionable content on social media earlier this month.
According to the complaint, videos posted on December 17 and 18, 2025, showed a political skit performed publicly at Connaught Place.
The skit allegedly portrayed individuals dressed as Santa Claus in a derogatory and mocking manner. Santa Claus, described in the complaint as a revered religious and cultural icon for Christians worldwide, was shown “fainting” and “collapsing” on the street.
The complainant alleged that the depiction reduced the religious figure to a prop for political messaging and hurt the sentiments of the Christian community.
Delhi Police said the matter is under investigation and further action will follow based on the findings.
