The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday, successfully detained a shopkeeper who allegedly sold explosive materials to Delhi’s Red Fort blast suspect.
It is alleged that the shopkeeper from Haryana’s Nuh district sold 300 kilograms of ammonium nitrate to Dr. Umar Un Nabi, the main accused in Monday’s deadly blast.
The explosion near the Red Fort, which occurred on Monday evening in a Hyundai i20 car, claimed at least 10 lives and injured several others.
According to NIA sources, the detained shopkeeper supplied the chemical without proper documentation, violating explosive material regulations.
Investigators are probing whether the seller was aware of Nabi’s intentions. The NIA is also tracing the supply chain to determine if the material was procured for other planned attacks.
