Sunny Deol pens emotional tribute as Dharmendra’s final film Ikkis

Actor Sunny Deol has shared a heartfelt tribute to his late father Dharmendra ahead of the theatrical release of Ikkis on January 1, calling the film a deeply personal milestone for the Deol family.

Taking to social media, Sunny described the biographical war drama as a salute to Dharmendra’s life, values and enduring bond with the land and his fans.

In his post, Sunny said Ikkis carries his father’s spirit, courage and heart, adding that the family hopes the film lives on “the way he does, forever.”

The message comes days after a special screening that turned into an emotional gathering, attended by industry veterans including Salman Khan and Rekha, along with close friends and family members.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis chronicles the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal, who was martyred at 21 during the 1971 war.

Dharmendra appears as Brigadier ML Khetarpal in what is being remembered as his final and symbolic screen performance.
